Eagle Market Streets Development Corporation, CED (EMSDC) as an integral partner to Carolina Small Business Development Fund (CSBDF) has been aligned with the Western Women’s Business Center (WWBC) since its inception. EMSDC’s 70 South Market St location served as the first home for the WWBC. The program was so successful that it quickly outgrew the modest space at EMSDC and moved to AB Tech’s Enka campus. However, the partnership stayed “in tack” and EMSDC became an annual appearance at the WWBC Women’s Conference. Eagle Market Street’s CEO and CSBDF Vice Chair, Stephanie Swepson Twitty, plays the role of ambassador at the annual WWBC Women’s conference. She is most often the person called on to bring inspiration before the luncheon. An additional role played by EMSDC is one of support to the small business owners who attend the conference through their signature Individual Development Account (IDA) program. EMSDC offers the program to expanding, emergent small businesses of color and women.
